California Volunteers
California First Lady Maria Shriver was spearheading an effort to make volunteer service convenient and accessible to anyone.
Background
The new state agency, charged with increasing the number and impact of Californians engaged in service and volunteering, was looking for a way to match citizens with volunteer opportunities online.
Our Solution
We designed the largest statewide volunteer matching network at CaliforniaVolunteers.org, which integrated several existing networks like AmeriCorps and DisasterCorps.
Through this innovative web-based tool, Californians can explore a database of over 45,000 rewarding service opportunities and find one matched to their location, skills, and interests.
The First Lady launched the site at The Women's Conference alongside Oprah Winfrey and the Dalai Lama.
